Content Descriptors

This resource through the practical implementation in a year five or six setting will by the end of Year 6 assist teachers in successfully supporting students in obtaining the requirements of the Australian Curriculum achievement standards, in relation to the Digital Technologies curriculum.

This resource specifically focuses on the Australian Curriculum content descriptors stated and students are expected to be able to demonstrate and explain how social, ethical, technical and sustainability considerations influence the design of solutions to meet a range of present and future needs.

Students through the use of teaching strategies used in this resource will be able to describe a range of needs, opportunities or problems and define them in terms of functional requirements. Students will also collect and validate data from a range of sources to assist in making judgements.

Finally through the use of this resource in supporting teaching pedagogies students will generate and record design ideas for specified audiences using appropriate technical terms, and graphical and non-graphical representation techniques including algorithms.
